The anti-Obama Christian bloggers

advertisement

One of the more painful things I have had to read in the past few weeks has been the growing chorus of panic and dismay amongst Christian Bloggers who are going crazy over the prospect of a Barack Obama/Democrat victory.

Who's leading the conversation?
This visualization below allows you to see the impact that each user has on the current conversation. The top row contains the group of users who have had the most impact, the 2nd row the group of users who have had the 2nd most impact (et cetera). Users with similar impact are grouped together, and the average score of the group is shown to the left of the group. The author of the article is also shown on the left, in their corresponding group. Each user's score is based on the number of comments the user has made plus the number of votes their comments have received. The scores are calculated relative one another, so while their absolute value is not particularly important, their relative difference does indicate a larger difference in impact on the conversation.

I truly believe the republicans have gone way over what should be acceptable in this election. They have riled their party to really hate people. Not just Obama by claiming terrorist, socialist, communist, etc etc. Also to hate Muslims because they lead people to believe that if you are Muslim you are a terrorist. There are thousands of Muslims in the military that are fighting in Iraq for this country. I wonder if they consider them to be anti America. How can you run a campaign and call another US Senator anti American. McCain and his campaign have run a despicable campaign and it's a shame for a so called war hero.

I feel like my religion has been hijacked by a bunch of really hateful people.  On other threads I have begged and pleaded with people to read the bible for themselves, don't just take the word of those people who use Jesus more like a tool to manipulate than to spread the love of God and .  I'm extremely frustrated.

Tay - great seed, thanks.  I am not a "Christian" in the conservative sense, but am a lousy practicing Catholic.  However, I try to keep my religious belief separate from my political beliefs.  I am a Barack supporter, and have been from the start.  But, I am having a hard time trying to reconcile the McCain campaign and it followers, especially those claiming to be Christians.  I think it must be especially difficult for those troops who are not Christians, but nonetheless have sworn an oath to put their lives on the line.  They are running a divisive campaign, and they know that's the only way they will "win".  But, in their war, they would have divided the country, solely for pride - and who wins then?

Christianity has become a label to the right wing fundamentalists. However, this group does not embrace the most basis tenets of Christianity; tolerance, inclusiveness, servanthood to all people, caring for the least among us as though they were Christ, forgiveness. following Christ. These people are about judgement of others and domination of their aggenda. That is not Christianity.

I don't spend a lot of time at church, not really because I don't want to more because of my business. However we are a religious family, with 5 children I want them to grow up with faith in their life. I don't see how such hateful, awful and down right evil things can come from people who claim to be Christians. How you can claim another to be in lack of God, while in the same breath saying some of the most evil things. I live by a very simple theory, God will ultimately judge others as he sees fit and it's not my place to judge people. Are there evil people in this world well of course there are. I'd bet everything I have that the world evil doesn't apply to either man running for president.

Fear not of loosing your religious freedom, fear having one controlling your life.  They that worship God merely from fear, would worship the devil too, if he appear.

South Carolina for:  Obama/Biden 2008 (your gonna love the change)
